5 Michigan Juniors lock up All-American Honors

Junior Greco Day 2 Recap
7/21/2008 - Fargo, ND

Michigan's Junior Greco-Roman wrestlers continued to excel
today in Fargo as 5 athletes locked up all-american spots and
advanced to Day 3.  Brenan Lyon, Jake Walters, Jake Bohn,
Mike Curby, and Bryant Craft all remain alive and will be
crowned all-americans tommorow.

After winning his first 6 matches of the tournament Jacob
Waltes of St Johns suffered his first loss in his last match of
the day to Minnesota's Justin Lavalle.  Walters is now one of 4
wrestlers remaining in his pool.  He will wrestle Nick Wilcox of
New York in the morning.  Wilcox also has one loss thus far
coming from Lavalle.

Mike Curby is still alive at 160lbs after winning a battle in his
last match over Joey Range of Iowa.  Curby is scheduled to
meet returning Greco National Champ Alec Ortiz of Oregon
tommorow morning.

Lyon, Bohn, and Craft have all lost twice and are now done
until the finals tommorow morning.

The Junior Greco wrestlers are done for today and all wrestlers who advanced to Day 3 have secured themselves as All-Americans.  5 Michigan wrestlers have survived and will be wrestling tommorow.   Brenan Lyon (98), Jake Walters (125), Jake Bohn (152), Mike Curby (160), and Bryant Craft (171) have advanced and are Greco All-Americans.  Lyon is now a 3x Greco All-American and 5x Fargo All-American all together. 

For Bohn and Curby, this is their 2nd straight Greco All-American honor.  All of the Michigan wrestlers enter tommorow with a loss, they will begin at 9:00am tommorow and the finals will take place at
Walters is 6-1 heading into Day 3 at 125lbs in Junior Greco
