D1 - Jake Bohn (East Kentwood) vs Alex Ortman (Temperance Bedford)
Ortman scores on a double leg takedown with less than 10 seconds to go to win 6-4. Ortman is now a two-time state champion.
D2 - Adam Miller (Sparta) vs Ryan Olep (Lowell)
Miller rides Olep out the entire third period to win 1-0 and immprove upon last year's second place finish.
D3 - Chris Eggert (Dundee) vs Corey Robinson (Caro)
Eggert breaks a 1-1 tie with a takedown with 30 seconds remaining and wins 3-2.
D4 - Coty Marcoux (Hartford) vs Andy Anderson (TCSF)
Anderson dictates the action from every position and wins 11-3.

D1 - Ben Bennett (Rockford) vs Adam Lauzun (Clarkston)
Lauzun puts up a fight for a while, before Bennett pins him in the third period. The now three-time state champion was winning 19-7 at the time of the fall.
D2 - Jacob Burge (Mason) vs Dillon Kern (Fowlerville)
Burge takes Kern down eight times before putting him away with a pin in the second period.  Burge wins his second title.
D3 -  Kamron Jackson (South Haven) vs Kyle March (Goodrich)
Jackson built a big early lead and then coasted to his second consecutive state championship at 171 pounds.
D4 - Justin Pickford (Athens) vs Kyle Hillard (Hudson)
Pickford's ferocious comeback attempt falls short as Hilliard wins 14-10.

D1 - Evan Gros (Lake Orion) vs Raylen Davis (Royal Oak)
Near the end of the first period, the ref does not award Davis a takedown and the Royal Oak coaches are not happy.  Gros escapes immediately in the second for the match's first point. Gros narrowly avoids giving up points on a Davis double leg attempt. The score remains 1-0 Gros after two periods.  Davis escapes early to tie the score. Davis comes up with the scramble of a lifetime to avoid a Gros takedown. Davis takes Gros down in the last ten seconds. Gros escapes but Davis still wins 3-2.
D2 - LJ Helbig (Mason) vs Peter Stamos (Portage Northern)
Helbig leads 13-4 going into the third. Helbig wins in dominating fashion.
D3 - Celic Bell (South Haven) vs Kyler Elsworth (Goodrich)
Elsworth hits Bell for a four-point throw at the very end to win 5-1.
D4 - Conrad Bovee (Ithaca) vs Bryant Byler (Bronson)
Bovee works Byler at each postion and wins a convincing 10-4 decision.

D1 - Marcel Dubose (Oak Park) vs Mitch Zajac (Holt)
Dubose hits Zajac for a five-point lateral drop right off the whistle. Zajac was nearly pinned in what might have been record timing for a state finals match. Dubose picks up two more points on a tilt at the end of the first period and now leads 7-0. Zajac takes Dubose down right to his back. Dubose gets a reversal to take a 9-4 lead. Again starting neutral, Dubose drives Zajac to his back for four more points and then cuts him loose. Dubose adds another takedown to win 15-5, adding a backflip for flare.
D2 - NIck McDiarmid (Mason) vs Chris Reeves (Ferndale)
Reeves wins 3-1 on a last second takedown that the Mason coaches claimed occured after the last second.
D3 - Jimmy Rowe (Dundee) vs Joel Vallier (Gladstone)
Vallier is looking for the first title from an upper peninsula wrestler. He leads 2-1 after the first. Down 3-1, Rowe cradles Vallier for a pin with 50 seconds remaining.
D4 - Kyler Ritter (Manchester) vs Zach Ritter (Byron)
Ritter wins. Duh. Kyler takes this one 3-1.

D1 - MIke Martin (Detroit Catholic Central) vs DJ Charneski (Hartland)
Martin looks for sweet revenge against the only wrestler to beat him all season. Martin scores a takedown on a bearhug slide-by. Martin socres another two.  Martin lets Charneski go and now leads 4-1. All the other hwt finals are still 0-0 deep into the second. Martin leads 7-2. Charneski is doing everything he can to whip Martin from a front headlock. Martin wins 7-3 in his toughest match of the tournament.
D2 - Michael Schaibly (Caledonia) vs Kenyon Ellison (Niles)
Ellison uses an escape and a takedown in the third period to shut Schaibly out 3-0.
D3 - David O'Neil (Essexville-Garber) vs Earl Leach (Birch Run)
O'Neil wins a 2-1 defensive struggle.
D4 - Tom Pelligrini (Harper Woods) vs Ryon Barker (Adrian-Madison)
Pelligrini takes advantage of an ill-conceived lateral drop attempt by Barker to win 3-1.

D1 - Andrew Brackins (Waterford Kettering) vs Jacob Scholten (Grandville)
The senior Brackins uses his strength and experience to handle Scholten 8-2.
D2 - Victor Vettese (Auburn Hills Avondale) vs Gamal Yahia (Melvindale)
Vettese makes it two OAA I champions at 103 with 9-5 win over Yahia. 
D3 - B.J. Suitor (Swan Valley) vs Chris Rau (Dundee)
Suitor gets Rau in a couple front headlocks but can not secure a takdown. Suitor wrestles nearly the entire first period from the front headlock position but scores no points. Rau starts on top in the second period. Rau survives on a potentially dangerous call after a long scramble. Suitor comes close but can not escape. Rau goes down in the third period. Suitor controls Rau on top, and now the two head into sudden death in a scoreless tie.  Suitor get in deep on a double leg but the ref calls stalemate. Double OT! Suitor rides Rau out in the first 2ot period. Rau cuts Suitor loose. Suitor shoots and holds off Rau for the title 1-0.
D4 - Brenan Lyon (Ithaca) vs Collin Zeerip (Hepseria)
Zeerip dominates the littlest man in the tournament on top and wins 10-0

D1 - Kyle Waldo (Rockford) vs Terrance Frank (Grand Blanc)
Waldo gets in on a couple deep shots at the edge of the mat but can not finish in bounds. Waldo scores a takedown at the end of the first. Frank starts down in the second period. Waldo tilts for two near fall points. Waldo coasts from there on out to win his third title, 5-0.
D2 - Tony Burge (Mason) vs Tyler Kesselring (Greenville)
Kesselring leads 4-0 early in the third and has rode Burge almost the whole match. Kesselring wins 9-1
D3 - Darius Wass (Swan Valley) vs Roger Wildmo (Durand)
Wass nails Wildmo in an early throw, Wildmo survives the pin. Wildmo is making a heck of a comeback effort trailing 7-6 with forty seconds left. The comeback is complete as Wildmo turns Wass for two more points to win 8-7. What a match!
D4 - Zeb Hilyard (Hudson) vs Jimmy Hamilton (Manchester)
Hilyard becomes the second Hudson Tiger to win a state championship in 2008, beating Hamilton 5-0, aided by a nasty crossface cradle.

D1 - Cameron Amateis (L'Anse Creuse) vs Paul Hancock (Dearborn Fordson)
Amateis has had Hancock on his back three seperate times and leads 15-5 heading into the third period. Amateis wins 21-9.
D2 - Steve Poffenberger (Allegan) vs Andrew Stepanovich (Forest Hills Northern)
Stepanovich completes his cinderella run with a 6-2 upset of Poffenberger
D3 - JT Gustin (Kelloggsville) vs Nick Smith (Ida)
Smth scores a takedown with under a minute to go to take a 6-4 lead. Gustin comes very close to scoring a reversal, but the ref indicates no loss of control and Smith pulls off the upset.
D4 - Jon Hayward (Marlette) vs Allen Krupp (New Lothrop)
Krupp scores a quick takedown and later turns Hayward to take a 5-0 lead into the second period. Krupp dominates the rest of the match as well and wins 10-0 to repeat as state champion.

D1 - Jeremiah Austin (Westland John Glenn) vs Zac Stevens (Monroe)
These two just finished the most active scoreless period I have ever seen. Plenty of opportunities for both wrestlers.
Stevens is starting to take control of the match with two takedowns in the second period. He leads 5-1.  Stevens scored another takedown. 7-2 Stevens. Stevens lets Austin go with nine seconds left and wins by a final score of 7-3.
D2 - Steve Light (St. Clair Shore Lakeview) vs Kyle Dalton (Middleville)
Light scores an early takedown and puts Dalton on his back for a first period pin.
D3 - Ryan Nieman (Bullock Creek) vs Garrett Schaner (Big Rapids)
Nieman tured Schaner in the second period for a pin.
D4 - Mykel Sumner (Addison) vs Tom Webster (Pine River)
Sumner held off a late leg attack by Webster to win 4-3.

D1 - Zach Johnson (Rockford) vs Christian Cullinan (Wyandotte Roosevelt)
Zach Johnson leads 5-4 early in the third period of a great match. Takedown Cullinan. Final score: 8-7 Cullinan
D2 - Max Smith (Sturgis) vs Mike LeHolm (Jackson Northwest))
LeHolm wins 5-3
D3 - Andrew Schutt (Yale) vs Grant Overcashier (Goodrich)
These two studs have stuck to battling for inside control during the first period. 0-0. Schutt scores a point when Overcashier stands him up. Overcashier nearly takes Schut to his back but will have to settle for two. Schutt tries to turn Overcashier but Overcashier escapes and leads 3-1.  Wow!!!!!!!!!!! What a series of events. Schutt hits an unbelievable backflip to escape an Overcashier double leg and then comes over top to get a takedown of his own and send the match into OT. Double OT. Schutt reverses, then rides Overcashier. Schutt Wins! We may have our match of the night.
D4 - Dan Osterman (Carson City-Crystal) vs Robert Morris (Pine River)
Osterman controls the match 5-0.

D1 - John Houseman (Grand Haven) vs Bebeto Yewah (Lansing Sexton)
D2 - Craig Eifert (Mason) vs Andy Krcatovich (Allegan)
D3 - Mark Weber (Goodrich) vs Anthony Varela (Whitehall)
Weber received two standing ovations for becoming only the 13th wrestler in Michigan history to win four state championships.
D4 - Cody Dunn (Leslie) vs Nate Hall (Blissfield)

D1 - Justin McDermitt (Davison) vs Shea Hasenauer (Detroit Catholic Central)
McDermitt took the match right to Hasenauer, leading 7-1 in the second period before Hasenaur inj defaults
D2 - Jackson Morse (Lowell) vs Brennan Brumly (Warren Woods Tower)
In one of the most anticipated matches of the night, Morse came came with game, scoring tw quick takedowns in the first period and then threw Brumley in the third. Morse leads 9-4. Morse added two more points for a most impressive 11-4 victory.
D3 - Donnie Corby (Crosswell-Lexington) vs Jake Jeske (Swan Valley)
Corby won in one of the more exciting matches of the night Corby held on 6-5, fighting off a late flurry by Jeske.
D4 - Steve Mena (Martin) vs Riley Ewalt (Carson City Crystal)
Ewalt attacked the whole match, even while winning 4-1 in the third period. For his efforts, Ewalt was rewarded with a second state championship.

D1 - Jeremy Bommarito (Hartland) vs Jake Dorulla (Rockford)
A returning state champion versus and undefeated sophomore returning runner-up. This should be interesting. No points in the first period. Bommarito has been dominant on top in the second period. 0-0 at the end of the second. 1-0 Bommarito. No more socring. Another state title for Bommarito
D2 - Deven Brown (Airport) vs Tim Gingerich (Lowell)
Brown scored on a leg attack in overtime to knock of Gingerich 3-1.
D3 - Jordan Dusseau (Erie-Mason) vs Calib Rought (Shelby)
Down 6-5 late in the match Rought reversed Dusseau to his back for the winning points in his 11-7 victory.
D4 - Brandon Zeerip (Hesperia) vs John Burns (Decatur)
Excellent match with a possible upset. Burns leads 5-4. A couple Zeerip takedowns later and he leads 10-7. Zeerip stacks Burns for the pin.

D1 - Jake Varilek (Lake Orion) vs Nick Kaczanowski (Rochester)
Varilek rides Kaczanowski out to beat him for roughly the 19th time this year, 1-0.
D2 - Justin Boss (Lowell) vs Jacob Johnson (Dearborn Heights Crestwood)
Wild match here with tons of  action. 6-6 in the third. Boss bundles Johnson and pins him.
D3 - Josh Swanson (Madison Heights Lamphere) vs Corey Woodruff (Pinconning)
Swanson comes into this match wearing the largest brace in the finals to protect a torn ACL in his right knee. Woodruff has his brother Kyle in his corner, who won a state title in 2006. Early in the match, Woodruff has already taken a couple shots at Swanson's bad knee. Swanson showed surprising quickness but evetually gave up the takedown. Swanson starts second period on bottom. Swanson earns four points on a scramble that landed Woodruff on his back. Third period starts with Swanson on top and winning 4-2. Woodruff hits a reversal with two seconds left to send the match into voertime. Woodruff gets in deep on a shot and finishes it for the win and the state championship.
D4 - Dan Yates (Hesperia) vs Matt Tuttle (Reading)
Yates is ahead in the third, 8-6. Another state title for Yates who wins a tough match 11-8.
