Holt places 4th @ North Canton Holiday Invite
North Canton, OH - December 21-22

North Canton, OH - The Holt Rams placed 4th at the 48th Annual North Canton Holiday Wrestling Invitational. The Invitational featured 32 teams packed with many State Champions and placers from throughout Ohio, West Virginia, and Michigan. Wadsworth High amassed 188.5 points to win the tournament, followed by Uniontown Lake-Blue with 160, University with 155, and Holt with 152.

The entire tournament had the feel of the state tournaments of yester-year, where every wrestler in attendance was considered top caliber, and in a high school gymnasium where you feel you are right on top of the action. (Unlike the Palace, where you sometimes require binoculars to see a match)

Holt started the tournament like gang busters, advancing 9 of their 13 wrestlers attending into the quarterfinal round and led by 5 points after the first day. Five grapplers from Holt advanced into the Semi Finals, led by an exciting 8-6 OT win by Corbin Boone over #3 seed Julian Rosen of University. The Semi Finals proved to be just as rough on the Ram when all five wrestlers failed to advance. To their credit, 4 out of the 5 losses were to Tournament Champions.
