Parker, Freeman, Litz All-American in Cadet Freestyle

7/19 - Three Michiganders survived the three-day grind of the Cadet Freestyle Nationals to finish as All-Americans today in Fargo, ND. 

St Johns freshman Ian Parker was just one win away from making the 100lb Championship Finals, but fell to Jack Wagner of Iowa in the final round-robin-match, creating a three-way tie in their pool.  Matthew Schmitt of Missouri, who Parker beat 14-6, won the pool and advnaced to the finals while Parker dropped into the 5th place match.  In an all-Michigan final, Parker edged freshman-to-be Ben Freeman 8-2 to finish 5th.

Freeman also advanced to his final pool round-robin and gave up a late fall to Ohio's Josh Venia, narrowly missing a spot in the 3rd place match.

Also earning All-American honors was Fowlerville sophomore Mason Litz who finished 7th/8th at 182lbs. 

A handful of Michigan Cadets put together strong showings, falling just shy of placing.  Kanen Storr (113lbs) went 5-2 with a couple big wins including a win over Minnesota State Champ Austin Anderly.  Conner Myers (138lbs) was also 5-2 while Dominic Lajoie (94lbs), Kyle Roberts (112lbs), and Jelani Embree (160lbs) recorded 3 wins a piece.
