Burge wins 171lb title
Jacob Burge won the 171lb Super 32 belt with a 5-4 victory of Edward Ruth of PA. Burge used two 1st period takedowns to propel himself to the big win. This marks the first time that a Michigan grappler has won the Super 32 Challenge.
Massa finishes strong
8th grader Taylor Massa lost in the semis to Collin Palmer of St Eds, Ohio, however, he bounced back with 2 big wins to claim 3rd place at 135lbs.
Burge advances to Super 32 Finals
Jacob Burge of Mason continued his winning ways with a 12-6 dec over Colin Lenhardt of Virginia, moving him to the 171lb finals where he will square off with Edward Ruth of PA. Ruth just pulled off a huge upset with his semifinal overtime win over Jordan Blanton of Illinois.
Massa's streak continues
Taylor Massa, an 8th grader at St John's middle school, just advanced to the 135lb championship semifinals with a dominant quarterfinal win. Massa will be wrestling Collin Palmer of St Edwards High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Palmer is one of the best wrestlers in the country in his weight class.
Consolation Chaos
There are a handful of Michigan grapplers still alive in the wrestlebacks. We dont have many bout results, however, we do know some of who is in and who is out. 8th grader Jordan Thomas just defeated of Isiah Gonzalez of Montini Catholic, IL 1-0 to stay alive at 145lbs. Craig Eifert of Mason was recently eliminated. We will try to get some more updates on who is still alive. Rickard, McDermitt and Boan all just dropped to the consis and should be coming up.
