Scouting Report

After winning a state title his sophomore year, Simaz was the victim of one of the biggest Palace upsets last year, dropping his only match of the year in the semifinals to Joe Johnson.  Younger brother of Cornell 3x All-American Cam Simaz, he already wrestles much like a college wrestler.  He is extremely physical and pushes the pace as good as anyone in the state.  He has always stayed busy in the off-season and has shown he can compete nationally, but his lack of marquee wins keeps a little un-noticed on the national scene.  His brother Cam had not really proven himself a whole nationally prior to his senior season either, and he turned out alright, so I would make sure to keep an eye on Taylor Simaz over the next couple years.
