Simmons, Hrovat slated for Big 10-Big 12 Challenge

3/17 - This weekend USA Wrestling, in combination with the
NCAA, will be holding a freestyle exhibition match during the
NCAA Championships featuring former Big Ten and Big 12
standout wrestlers.

Among the 14 senior level athletes invited to compete are
a couple former Michigan collegiate All-Americans. 

Nick Simmons, who graduated from
Michigan State in 2007 after compiling 4 All-American
plaques and 3 Big Ten Titles between them, will be
competing at 121lbs.. 

Simmons, who was a World Team Alternate last year at
55kg/121lbs, is set to square off with Obe Blanc, an
Oklahoma State graduate, in a rematch of last year's
US National Finals.

Former Michigan All-American Andy Hrovat is also scheduled to compete.  Hrovat, who was a 2008 Olympian at 175lbs, will be featured at 211.5lbs competing against former Iowa State star David Bertolino.

The Big 10-Big 12 Challenge will take place during the NCAA Fan Festival in Exhibit Hall C of The Qwest Center this Friday from 1:30-2:45pm.
