Freeze falls in Disney Duals Finals
6/27 - The Disney Duals concluded yesterday in Lake Buena
Vista, FL with two Michigan squads in the top 6. For the 2nd
year in a row a Michigan squad advanced to the Championship
finals, but fell one match shy of the title. Michigan Freeze lost
39-16 to Pennsylania Diesel in the finals yesterday afternoon.

Daniel (pictured) scored one of the bigger wins with a 4-2 win
over Shyheim Brown of PA. Brown is currently ranked as the
20th nationally at 103lbs by InterMat.
Freeze finished out the tournament with two undefeated
wrestlers making the Gold all-tournament team in Ryan Nieman
and Nick Humes. Dan Yates and Jared Germaine finished with
one loss to earn Silver medals and five other Freeze wrestlers
earned Bronze and Copper medals.
Michigan Blue finished 6th after losing to Premium Select 27-25 in the finals. Fowlerville state champ Nick McDiarmid paced the Blue squad, wrestling in every dual and only losing one match. McDiarmid earned a Silver Medal for his performance. Also earning Silver medals while wrestling in a portion of the Blue duals was Matt Frisch and Randy Gaffney.
Michigan Red finished with the most medallists of all the Michigan squads led by Jackson Morse and Calib Rought, who both turned in Gold Medal performances. AJ Fligger and Steve Sattler earned Gold medals as well wrestling as alternates for Michigan Red while Andrew Schutt, Jesse Somsel, and John Rizgallah all earned Silver medals.
