Rodriguez, Trice win Greco National Titles

4/10 - The University Nationals and FILA Cadet Nationals will go down this
weekend in Akron, OH and got started today with Greco-Roman competition.

The University division consists of college aged-wrestlers while FILA Cadet
is younger high school wrestlers.

Michigan crowned a Greco champ in each division as Freddie Rodriguez of
Holt won the FILA Cadet 110lb division and Central Michigan sophomore
Jarod Trice won the University 264lb title.

The win for Rodriguez was his 2nd FILA Cadet National Championship as he
won a freestyle title last year.  Fowlerville freshman Adam Coon finished 3rd
at 220lbs with his only loss coming to returning Cadet Greco National
Champ Tanner Hall of Idaho.

Trice won the University Greco Title at heavyweight over a pair of Spartans
as he beat MSU sophomore Steve Andrus in the finals and he beat another
MSU Heavyweight, Joe Rizgallah in the quarterfinals.  Rizgallah came back
to finish 3rd.

4 Michigan State wrestlers placed in all.  St Johns native and former Junior Greco All-American Dan Osterman continued his Greco success, finishing 2nd at 138lbs and former Clarkston standout Bryant Craft finished 2nd as well, at 174lbs.

Action will continue today with the Freestyle Divisions and a large amount of Michigan high school and collegiates should be in attendance.
