Individual State Championships Team Scores Tabulated

3/17 - Prior to 1988 the High School Team State Champions in Michigan were determined based on team scores at the Individual State Tournament.

It is often discussed amongst Michigan wrestling people, especially traditionalists who remember the "good ole days", so we took the liberty of tabulating what the team scores would have been in Auburn Hills.

If the team champions were recognized in Auburn Hills, nothing would have changed in Division 1 or Division 4, DCC and Hudson both proved to be the best in either format.  Division 2 and Division 3 saw new champions however, as Allegan (D2) and Dundee (D3) scored the most team points.

Read below to see the top 10 in each division based on team scoring from the Individual State Championships and just imagine what it would be like to hear team standings announced prior to each session at the Palace!

Special thanks to Lowell assistant coach Josh Cooper for compiling this data!
