1st Annual Grappler Fall Classic Pre-Seeds Released

10/11 - The 1st Annual Grappler Fall Classic is set to go

down next weekend in Tecumseh, MI and the Pre-Seeds

have been released.  

11 of the 15 weight classes feature Michigan wrestlers as

the top seed.  Three Iowa wrestlers landed top seeds as

2010 Fargo Champ Phillip Laux is #1 at 105lbs, 2010 Fargo

Runner-Up Jack Hathaway is top dog at 119lbs, and Montana

State Champ Britton Thompson (now wrestles for Iowa City

West HS, IA) is the #1 seed at 152lbs.  Nebraska State

Runner-Up Nyle Bartling is the other non-Michigan wrestler

to land the top nod as he is the #1 seed at 189lbs.

These seeds are still subject to change and will be finalized

after weigh-ins at the Coach's Seeding Meeting Friday night. 

The following criteria was used to establish the Pre-Seeds:

1. 2009-2010 High School Season Accomplishments (strength

of State Tournament  taken into consideration)

2. 2009-2010 National Tournament Accomplishments & notable

wins against national competetion (strength of tournament taken

into consideration)

3. 07-08 & 08-09 High School Season Accomplishments

4. 07-08 & 08-09 National Tournament Accomplishments

Registration is still open for the Grappler Fall Classic, however, we are expecting to reach our capacity.  There were 392 entries at the time of seeding and registration will be cut off at the first 400 paid entries.  Therefore, if you are registered but not paid we encourage you to do so immediately as walk-up registration will likely not be allowed.
