Sparta Wins Conference Title

Division II #9 Sparta wrapped up its regular season wrestling action by winning the OK Blue conference crown on Saturday in Coopersville.

The Spartans crowned three individual champions: Brad Ronning at 103 who won a 4-0 decision over Coopersville's Brandon Edwards, Nick Trimble who won the 140 weight class by technical fall over Caleb Westveer, and James Rodgers who pinned Tommy Killeen at 3:28 to win the 189 weight class. Sparta also had five wrestlers take second, helping the Spartans secure the victory with 206.5 points. Second place finisher Coopersville finished a distant second with 184 points.

On the 8th of February the Spartans travel to Greenville to participate in team districts with Greenville and conference foe Cedar Springs.
