Scouting Report (Fall 2009): Never finishing lower than the 3rd in the state shows the kind of athlete Nick Humes is. The only person who stood between him and a state title this year was 3x state champ and Sr National All-American Craig Eifert and this year he will be a favorite to finally win one. Humes opened some eyes with his undefeated record at the Disney Duals this summer and he will likely continue to do so as he gets out more nationally. His style is wide open and he is a great folkstyle wrestler who can scramble with the best of them. He is also dangerous and an opposing coache's nightmare because you never feel safe wrestling against him. His Fargo performance was not extremely impressive but he is also not much of a freestyle wrestler so don't let that fool you - this kid has all the physical tools to be a solid Division 1 college wrestler.
