Scouting Report (Spring 2010): Olep finished his career as one of the top guys never to win one. He wrestled 189 all year and may have been the favorite to win there (he was ranked nationally at 189 in January), however, his drop to 171 pitted him against EMU bound Jake Dorulla and Olep lost close matches to him at Districts, Regionals, and States. He also lost an overtime match up at 215 to state champ Joe Stefanski. Olep has the tools to wrestle in college and we still have not received word on his plans.
(Fall 09) Olep's loss in last year's state semifinals was one of the biggest upsets of the tournament after he made it to the finals as a Sophomore and went 8-3 in Disney that summer. Olep has unique athleticism and scrambling ability for a big guy. He has solid position on his feet, defends shots well, and wrestles out of every position, which makes him very tough to score on. He hasn't won a state title or broke out at a National tournament yet, however, he is one of the most talented big men in the state and he should end up being a pretty solid 174 or 184lber in college.
