Team MYWAY excells at out-of-state in California, North Carolina


Middle Schoolers win Mid-Cal Tournament in California
Two weeks ago MYWAY sent a team of Michigan's top Middle School wrestlers to California to compete at the Final Four Duals as well as the Mid-Cal Middle School Tournament in Gilroy, CA, which is widely renowned as one of the top Middle School tournaments in the great state of California.

Michigan MYWAY went 2-1 at the Final Four Duals, losing to SCWAY Elite, but knocking off SCWAY All-Stars as well as the Clovis Area All-Stars, two teams made up of the best middle schoolers in California.

On Saturday, November 13th at the Mid-Cal Tournament, Michigan MYWAY won the Team Title behind the efforts of five first place wrestlers.  Lucas Hall of Lowell won the 85lb championship and was the named the Lightweight Most Oustanding Wrestler.

Devin Schroder of Northview (95lbs), Talon Seitz of Hartland (110lbs), Angus Arthur of Lowell (160lbs), and Jake Ellis of Davison (HWT) also won Mid-Cal Indvidual Titles.  Schroder and Ellis each went 7-0 combined on the weekend and were the only Michigan wrestlers to make it out of California without a loss.

McRill, Spidle go perfect at the Red, White, and Blue Nationals
Team Michigan MYWAY had two teams cometing in the Red, White, and Blue Elementary Duals last weekend in North Carolina with both teams finishing in the top 4. MYWAY Elite fell to the champion PA Punishers in the final 44-20.  MYWAY Grizzlies finished 4th overall. 

Two Michigan wrestlers went undefeated for MYWAY Elite as Brenden McRill (95lbs) and Sean Spidle (50lbs) were perfect on the weekend.  McRill, a 2010 All-Future Team Member, was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament going 5-0 and not allowing a point in 4 of those matches.
