#10 Jayhawks roll through busy New York weekend
12/7 - The Muskegon Community College wrestling team, currently ranked 10th in the NJCAA national poll, proved their national ranking with a strong weekend in New York that started with a 37-10 pummelling over Alfred State and finished 5 wrestlers advancing to the finals of the Niagra Open.
Matt Fetterly, currently ranked #1 in the country at 174lbs, scored a fall over Alfred State and then a finals fall to win the Niagra Open. The Jayhawks had four others finish runner up at their respective weights as Tom Webster (133), Kyle Windquist (141), Jacob Blackmer (174), and Justin Leanord (197) all fell in the finals.
Grand Valley State crowned one champion as John Aikens won the 197lb title. Ty Caron (157), Mike Leanord (157), also placed in the top 4 for GVSU.
