103 - Derek Elmore (Harlem, IL) vs Esteben Gonzales (Brandon, MI)

Elmore and Gonzales getting underway right now. Gonzales in on a shot, Elmore locks up a splatle and gets the fall just :35 into the match.

112 - Anthony Pavlich (John Glenn, MI)) vs Mark Savenok (IL)

Alright coming back to 112 now.

After a scoreless 1st Pavlich hits a takedown and is up 2-0. Pavlich working a tilt, but doesnt get the points. Pavlich won the bout.

119 - Leon Shannon (MI) vs Darius Wass (Swan Valley, MI)

Last match of the day, Wass up 4-0 in a battle of state placers. Wass riding tough with the boots in.

3rd period - 2 reversal for Wass, now up 6-0. Was working a tough half but it gets stopped potentially dangerous. Time runs out and a shutout win for Darius Wass.

125 - Michael Perez (OH) vs Stephen Roberston (IL)

Perez and Robertson are underway...they are waiting on 112 and 119. Robertson scored quick and cut Perez loose, then just added another score 4-1 with 20 seconds left in the 1st.

Perez starts down in the 2nd, Robertson cuts him and the score is 4-2. We dont have any info on Roberston but Perez was a state qualifier and Disney Duals All-American last year. Perez just got a nice shot for a takedown and tied it up 4-4. Tied going into the third.

1:13 left to go, blood time. Still tied 4-4. Perez riding tough, Robertson appears to be dying down in the late goings. Perez rode him out, going to OT

Ramos and Rasche are teammates and choosing not to wrestle the final. Moving on to 135

135 - Kegan Arthur (MI) vs Ryan Watts (MI)

I looked away for a second, and Arthur stuck Watts in the first period.

140 - Troy Lamson (MI) vs Daniel Allan (WI)

We have no info on Dan Allan, Lamson was a state placer in D2 this year. Lamson scored a quick takedown and locked up a cradle for the fall and a dominating victory.

145 - Andrew DeHart (OH) vs Austin Egolf (IN)

DeHart is an Ohio State Qualifier. We dont have anything on Egolf yet. Egolf is a stocky looking kid, built well. Here we go they are getting underway. Dehart got a takedown is up 2-0, then hit a turn for 3 nearfall. 5-0 going to the 2nd.

Dehart started down in the 2nd, Egolf riding tough, but a nice switch by Dehart for 2 and 7-0 lead.

Still 7-0, Egolf's choice, going down. Dehart conitnues an efficient ride and Rasche cant seem to figure him out. Matche ends 7-0.

152 - Josh Houldsworth (MI) vs Anthony Perez (IL)

Houldsworth, who took 3rd in D1 last year, comes out fast as is in on Perez' legs. He finishes a nice single and is now working ontop. Houldsworth is taking it to him on top, now up 7-1 with :30 to go in the 2nd period. Houldsworth got the fall.

160 - Mack Jensen (WI) vs Isaiah Gonzales (IL)

Gonzales is up 2-0. Gonzales is an IL state runner up. Period ends 2-0. Jensen scored a reversal to tie the match 2-2. Jensen riding legs, nice granby by Gonzales, but Jensen gets his hips back on top to keep the socre tied 2-2 with :45 left in the 1st period. Gonzales is running away with it now racking up takedownds in the third, up 12-5 as the match comes to an end.

171 - Ryan Olep (MI) vs Alex Sanders (IL)

Olep is a state runner up from Lowell. Sanders is tough wrestler from Izzy Style WC, Montini Catholic HS. Olep gets a takedown after a long scramble, has a cradle locked up. He loses the cradle and Sanders gets in on a leg and then finishes for a reversal. Coach RJ Boudro does not look happy with that call. Olep hits a granby and gets areversal but no back pts, Sanders then scrambles out for an escape at the buzzer. Wild 1st period end 4-3 Olep.

Sanders starts down in the 2nd and Olep is riding tough, :45 seconds to go. Olep rides out the period, up 4-3 going into the final stanza. Olep went down and Sanders opts to cut him and start neutral. going tough with :45 to go. Both guys handfishgting. Sanders in on single leg, OPlep scrambles out and comes away on top to take a 7-3 lead.

189 - Dillon Kern (MI) vs Ryan Garringer (IL)

Kern down 2-0 after giving up a quiock takedown to Garringer. Kern reversed Garringer for 5 points , but was then reversed and the score is 5-4 going into the 3rd.

2nd period 6-5 on their feet, Garringer hits a takedown with :30 to go and is now up 8-5.

Going into the 3rd Garringer is up 8-5 and will start on bottom. Garringer reverses Kern and is now up 10-5 with a minute to go.

Garringer rides him out and wins 10-5.

Nelson scores a quick 2. Nelson riding tough. He is a Illinois state freestyle placer. Grinder is a 2x regional qualifier in Indiana. Nelson up 3-1 with 20 seconds left. Nelson pulls it out

75 - Tommy Zeigler (St Peter, OH) vs Charles Baker (IN)

Zeigler and Baker are getting underway righ now. Zeigler is a 2x Ohio State Champ and has placed at Reno Nationals, Tulsa Nationals, Dixie Nationals, and Tulsa Kickoff in the past. Sorry we had some technical difficulty, Zeigler won the bout.

85 - Zack Cooper (MI) vs Jordan Linn (IL)

All Future Team Member Cooper gave up the first takedown, but quickly escaped, score is 2-1 Linn going into the 2nd period.

Picking up action in the third, Cooper has tied the match 3-3 with one minute to go. Cooper is on top riding tough, Linn needs to score. In a flurry Cooper nearly scores back points, but then loses control going out of bounds and Linn is awards an escape. 15 seconds to go. A little controversy here Cooper was awarded two at the buzzer but the refs are conversating...The call stands Cooper gets the two after spinning behind right at the buzzer and wins the Border wars national title.

95 - Michael Rogaliner (MI) vs Dean Heil (OH)

107 - Jacob Peasley (MI) vs Jared Flores (MI)

Flores is a freshman and Swan Valley this year and Peasley is a freshman at Kearsley. No scoring in the first, Flores almost caught Peasley on his back. Flores scored a reversal in the 2nd, but Peasley reversed him back score is 2-2 going into the 3rd. Flores scored a takedown at the end to seal it for the win. Flores looked solid, should do well for SV at 103 this year.

114 - Dalton Nicely (OH) vs Lucas Lambrecht (WI)

122 - JJ Whaley (IL) vs Jay Wallace (MI)

Whaley has Wallace in a funky posiition with a double wing type move and a minute to go, Wallace is in trouble. Wallace got out of it and escaped to make the score 5-1. Wallace scored a takedwo nto make it 5-3, comeback is brewing.

Whaley scored an escape to take a 6-3 lead. Whaley knocked off Taylor Grenawalt of Haslett, MI en route to the finals. Nice scramlbe here...no points, 6-3 going into the htird. Whaley took control late and won 11-5.

130 - Taylor Mommaerts (WI) vs Jacob Weissand (MI)

Weeisand is a tough MI freshman, will be wrestling at Carman Ainsworth this year. Mommaerts is up 7-1 on Weissand with 30 second sto go in the 3rd.

138 - Payne Hayden (MI) vs Matt Meyer (IL)

Hayden is one of the top middle schoolers in Michigan right now, was a MUSAW Triple crown winner last year and finished 2nd at USAW freestyle nationals. Meyer was an IL runner up last year and is built well for a junior high guy.

Hayden scored with a few seconds left in the 1st 2-0 going into the 2nd. Hayden put Meyer to his back and is scoring nearfall, now looking for the fall.

Hayden ends the match strong, wins 10-1.

145 - Drew Barnes (MI) vs James Herron (MI)

Midway through the 2nd Barnes is up 7-4. Barnes puts Herron to his back and wins the match 11-6.

170 - Garrett Stehley (MI) vs Lantz Miller (MI)

Stehley is a talented 7th grader from Lowell, while Miller is a freshman this year at Dansville. Both of these guys are nationally expierenced. Stehley was a Tulsa runner up last year, Miller a Liberty runner up.

Two takedown Stehley with :30 to go. 2-0

still 2-0 with 1:20 left in the 2nd period on their feet. Miller working underhooks, pushes Stehley out of bounds. Nice swing single by Stehley to take the 4-0 lead.

2 points scored on a reversal by Stehley, up 6-0 with a minute left. Stehley nearly turns him but finishes with a 6-0 win.

HWT - Adam Coon (Fowlerville,MI) vs Frank Roth (MI)

Coon is an all-future team member and one of the best big men middle schoolers in Michigan. Coon scores a takedown and is up 2-0. Nice bear hug return off a standup and almost scored some nearfall. Coon scores two back points off a stack and is up 4-0 going into the 2nd.

The score is now 8-0 in the thrid, on their feet. takedown now looking for nearfall...Coon wins 10-0.
