Scouting Report (Fall 09): Schaner had a dissapointing state meet last year, finishing 5th, however, he has proven himself over the past couple years enough that he should still remain as one of the most sought after guys in this class. He trains and competes year-round and has gained a wealth of national expierence throughout his career. He has done very well in Fargo the past two summers including this year, where he finished a match from placing at 145lbs. Schaner is tall for his weight and has room to fill out so it is unknown where he will end up in college. He is also a very smart kid with strong academics. His brother Seth will be a freshman at EMU this fall, so the Eagles have to be a front-runner for signing him.
