Scouting Report:
Spring 2010 - Shannon put together another strong season, losing only to eventual champ Matthieson at the State Tournament. He also competed well at the FloNationals. Whether it is at the D1 level or lower, there is no doubt that Shannon has the ability and passion to wrestle in college and he should get some good looks entering the late signing period. His grades are solid as well, which is always a plus.
Fall 2009
Shannon finished 3rd last year in a stacked weight class at 119lbs. The only two wrestlers who placed above him were current college freshman Kyle Waldo (University of Nebraska) and Grant Pizzo (University of Michigan). He scored a big win in the 3rd place match over Robbie Bidlinmaier of Anchor Bay who was considered a contender to hang with Waldo going in. He flies under a lot of radars, however, he has been active in the offseason, finishing 2nd at the Tournament of Champions and wrestling at the Grand River Rumble, where his only loss was to the #6 junior in the state Chris Rau.
