Lowell fair attracts loaded high school division
















failed to place in the top 4 of those weights.  Division 1 state runner up Justin Fleeson of Belleville, along with John Tanner of Coloma and EMU bound Adam Draves of Northview all failed to place at 125.  Meanwhile, state placers Dan Sabin of Kent City and Zach Davis of Davison fell short at 130lbs.

Junior National Champ John Prezzia of PA lived up to expectations as he cruised through the 119lb bracket, ending with a 10-1 major decision over Chris Burtchett of Hartford.

Also claiming titles from Michigan was Corey Alegria of Alma, who pinned Tyler Frese of Coloma in the 112lb finals, along with Jake Portraj of Bulldog WC and Connor Funk of Team Rhino, among others.

Tylor Cook of Caledonia was one of 7 Michiganders to bring home gold last night in Lowell
8/11 - The Lowell Fair Tournament started yesterday with high school and open action.  The tournament ended a perfect split with 7 champions hailing from Michigan and 7 gold medals leaving Michigan with out of state contestants.  One of Michigan's winners was Tylor Cook of Caledonia who defeated Jaron Licatovich of Pennsylvania in the 152lb finals by decsion 7-2.

125 and 130, the deepest weights of the tournament, both saw close finals matches where Michiganders fell to top Pennslvania wrestlers.  At 125 lbs Jared Germaine of Swan Valley lost to John Mort of PA 6-3 and  Zach Johnson of Rockford lost 1-0 to Cadet Freestyle All-American Sam Sherlock in the 130lb finals.

Although Germaine and Johnson fell in the finals, their performances were very solid as 125 and 130 were so tough that 5 Michigan state placers
