All-Future Team unveiled, Turner wins WOTY
9/28 - The 2012 Michigan Grappler "All-Future" Youth Dream Team has been
announced.  Shamrock WC's Easton Turner, who won the Fab 50 standings for 2012, is the Youth Wreslter of the Year and is joined by the best and brightest youth stars in the state of Michigan.  All members of the All-Future Team, as well as anyone who finished in the Youth Fab 50 for 2012, are invited to be recognized prior to the start of the 2012 Grappler Fall Classic on Sunday, October 14th in Battle Creek's Kellogg Arena.  To see the future of Michigan wrestling, click more.

Michigan youth wrestlers make statement at Dixie Nationals
12/30 - A group of Michigan youth wrestlers traveled down to Atlanta, GA this week and competed in the Minion Duals, followed by the Dixie Nationals. Team Michigan finished 2nd in the Minion Duals then crowned 4 National Champions at the Dixie Nationals.  Click more for the full recap.

Superstar youth talent invades X-Mas All-Star Duals
12/14 - Elite elementary and middle school wrestlers from all over the country invaded Kellogg Arena last weekend for the Border Wars All-Star Christmas Duals.  In the end, Team Indiana Cornstalkers Gold won the Middle School division and the PA Punishers won the Elementary Division.  The highest placing Michigan squad was Team MI Grappler-MYWAY, who finished 2nd in the Middle School Division (pictured).  Click more for Jeff Chaney's full recap of the X-MaDuals.

Final Fab 50 Standings Unveiled
8/17 - The final corrections and changes were made to the Fab 50 Standings for 2011 and we now have our Top 50 youth wrestlers for the year.  Click below to view the entire group, which is headlined by the Andrew Hughes who becomes the 4th wrestler to win the MI Grappler Youth Fab 50 (Mark Hall, Zack Cooper, Caden Natale, Hughes).  The top 10 wrestlers in the Fab 50 ensure spots on the Michigan Grappler Youth All-Future Dream Team.  The final 10 spots on the All-Future team will be determined based on nominations.  To nominate a wrestler for the All-Future Team, email fab50@michigangrappler.com.

MI earns AA status at Schoolboy Freestyle Duals
6/13 - The Michigan Schoolboy National Team finished up yesterday in Indianapolis as All-Americans, finishing 8th in the Freestyle Duals out of 29 teams.  Three Michigan wrestlers finished with just one loss in freestyle - Landon Pelham, Mason Litz, and Kevin Curby.  Click more to see the full results and go to the Grappler Video Page to watch Team Michigan's bouts from the Schoolboy Duals.

Team Grappler takes 5th at Middle School Duals
4/16 - Last weekend the AAU Middle School Duals took place in Iowa and two Michigan squads were in attendance.  Team Michigan Grappler finished with a 7-1 record and ended up 5th in Gold Medal Pool.  10 Michiganders earned All-American status including four undefeated wrestlers - Logan Ritchie, Camden Bertucci, Alex Martinez, and Josh Colegrove.  Click more for full recap and results.

MYWAY season wraps up in grand fashion
3/28 - The 10th season of MYWAY officially ended yesterday in Battle Creek as the 2011 MYWA State Championships completed at Kellogg Arena.  Over 2,300 wrestlers showed up over the 3-days of competetion and with a new session schedule that avoided overcrowded-ness, the MYWAY people pulled off a great, smoothly flowing event.  We are still sifting through results to make sense of it all, however, videos are up from the weekend and can be viewed now at the Michigan Grappler Video Page.  Click below for video coverage and full results.

Olson wins Tulsa title, 6 Michiganders place
2/1 - The Tulsa Nationals are widely known as the baddest of the bad when it comes to youth national tournaments and when this year's Tulsa Nationals went down a couple weeks ago two Michigan wrestlers came home with national titles, including Lincoln Olson (pictured) of Davison and the OTA Wrestling Academy who won the 15&U 82lb National Title.  Click more to see all the placewinners.

Chippewa Challenge added to Fab 50 Schedule
11/24 - With the MYWAY season right around the corner, Michigan Grappler is beginning to add events to our 2010-2011 Fab 50 Schedule.  The Chippewa Challenge, which goes down December 19th in Mt Pleasant, is the most recent addition.  Any MYWAY clubs hosting weekend tournaments are encouraged to contact Michigan Grappler as soon as possible if they are interested in making their event part of the Fab 50.  Events are added on a first come, first serve basis and we will not add multiple events on the same date.

MYWAY squads thrive on national scene
Middle School and Elem National teams excel in California & N Carolina
11/23 - The MYWAY Middle School and Elementary National Teams were on the road earlier this month competing in California and North Carolina.  A group of Michigan's best middle schoolers were in action in California at the Final 4 Duals and the Mid-Cal Invitational while the Elementary Squad was in action at the Red, White, and Blue Nationals in North Carolina. Caden Natale wins 2010 Fab 50 Crown
8/8 - The 2009-2010 Final Fab 50 Standings have been released and after over 40 events and over 100 Michigan youth wrestlers in contention, it was Caden Natale of The Shamrock WC and Grizzly Elite WC who finished atop the standings.  By winning the Fab 50 Natale has secured MI Grappler Fab 50 Youth Wrestler of the Year honors.  Click more for the full story on this year's Fab 50 and the full standings.

Fab 50 Standings to be released in July
6/23 - The 3rd season of Michigan Grappler's Fab 50 Youth Tournament Series came to an end last month with the Border Wars Motor City IronMan event.  Michigan Grappler is asking all coaches and parents to send in all unreported Fab 50 results as soon as possible to fab50@michigangrappler.com.  The deadline to receive results will be July 4th.  We will post tentative final results within a week after the July 4th deadline, and then there will be a one-week window to report any mistakes in the standings.  Click below to view the tentative 2010-2011 Fab 50 Schedule.

Wood, Massa, Dunn shine at Schoolboy Duals
6/15 - A group of Michigan's top middle school wrestlers competed at the Schoolboy Freestyle and Greco-Roman Duals in Indiana last weekend and while the short-handed Michigan team failed to place in either styles, a handful of individuals put together standout
performances, including Oxford 8th grader Zach Wood (pictured), who went 15-1 on the weekend at 265lbs, including an undefeated performance to make the Freestyle All-Tournament Team.  St Johns 7th grader Logan Massa went 6-0 in greco and 14-1 overall, making the Greco-Roman All-Tournament team, and Hunter Dunn went undefeated in freestyle and 15-1 combined on the weekend.  Click more for full results and records of Team Michigan.

4/28 - Last weekend a fleet of Michigan's best wrestlers of all ages made the trip to Columbus, Ohio for the Tournament of Champions and 8 came home with titles.  Click more for a full list of Michigan's placers.

Michigan claims 8 All-Americans at Elementary Duals
4/18 -  The AAU Elementary National Duals wrapped up today in Kingsport, TN and while the Michigan team finished 2-6 overall, 8 individuals earned All-American honors for their performance, including Brenden McRill, Sean Spidle, and Elijuh Weaver, who all went a perfect 8-0 on the weekend.  Click more for to see the complete list of All-Americans and check out the Grappler Video Page to watch Team Michigan's matches from this weekend.

MYWAY season wraps up in Battle Creek
3/30 - A record number of Michigan youths packed into the Kellogg Arena last weekend for the 2010 MYWAY State Finals.  MYWAY, which has established itself as one of the premiere state-level youth wrestling organizations in the country, continued their success in building our sport as some of the top youth wrestlers in the nation were in attendance battling it out for state titles.  Click below for final brackets and check back in the next two weeks for the Fab 50 standings following the MYWAY state tournament.
